Indochina Voyages Exceeded My Expectations
As a solo senior traveler, I was at first hesitant to travel for 30 plus hours by flight to Vietnam and toured with an unknown travel operator. I communicated with several Vietnamese tour consultants via Trip Advisor, but I finally settled on Indochina Voyages. It was the responsiveness, diligence, and the recommendations of Ms. Hue Nguyen that impressed me the most. My customized 14-day and 13-night private tour was everything I’d envisioned–from the airport pickup, the knowledgeable guides, the hotel selections, to the cultural and historical sites I visited. Trump Duc from Hanoi was a passionate and knowledgeable guide who went out of his way to find me the asthma inhalers I needed during my trip. Emma from Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) was equally ardent about her country. She even volunteered to give me a wake-up call at 3 a.m. to ensure that I got to the airport in time to catch my flight. They truly want me to see their beloved country and enjoy their cuisine too. I was so enamored by these three ambassadors of Vietnam!

Fantastic Trip, Surpassed our Expectations
My husband and I (early 60’s) spent 3 weeks in Vietnam in November. We found Indochina Voyages by reading forums on tripadvisor, and saw they were highly rated. Nevertheless, it was a complete leap of faith for us to book our trip through them, and they far surpassed our expectations.
We contacted Minh and told him about ourselves, what we like, and a few places we thought we should see, and asked him to create an itinerary for us, with lots of activities (walking tours, food tours, some biking, some boating, museums, etc.) He sent a very detailed proposal and we proceeded to go back and forth with emails for about a month, until we felt we had a really good trip lined up, with lots of activities, but also some good relaxation built in (a necessity, especially after the very hot and humid days touring around.) At that point, we still had no idea how much the trip would cost, and were pleasantly surprised that even with staying at 4 and 5 star hotels, with a private guide and a private driver (do NOT plan to drive yourselves, there are thousands of locals on motorbikes and it’s extremely chaotic in the cities) the trip was quite reasonable.
Since my husband was scuba diving in Indonesia first, I planned to arrive in Hanoi a few days before him, so I could get over jetlag by the time he arrived. I’d never been to Asia and spoke not a word of Vietnamese, so was a bit nervous about arriving on my own. But, as promised, I was met at the airport by Snow, our private English speaking guide, (a lovely, knowledgeable, young woman and a delight to spend time with) and a driver, in a nice air conditioned SUV, replete with water bottles. I stayed at the Sinfonia del Rey solo, which was a lovely small hotel right in the heart of Hanoi’s old quarter, by the turtle lake. there After a few days of sightseeing with Snow, my husband arrived and we moved to the even nicer hotel, Peridot Grand, so we could experience a different part of the Old Quarter.
Every single one of the hotels that Minh chose for us was terrific — very comfortable, each more beautiful than the next, lovely staff, and really terrific food (breakfast was always included). We had been tempted to skip Halong Bay (it was a 3 -4 hour drive from Hanoi) but Minh insisted we should not miss it, and it ended up being one of the real highlights of the trip. We spent one night on a private junk (wooden boat) with a private chef, a captain, and an English speaking guide. Including the gourmet meals, the one night was about $700 and we are so glad Minh convinced us the splurge was worth it.
Minh also advised us to skip Sapa and to instead visit the less touristy Ninh Binh and Pu Luong, again excellent suggestions. And when we decided we did not want to visit Hoi An, since it was the height of rainy season there, Minh suggested we visit the island of Phu Quoc (we’d never heard of it) for some good weather and relaxation. The Salinda resort there was fantastic — gorgeous spacious room, lovely warm pool looking out over the ocean and the best breakfast spread we’ve ever seen. Plus good poolside restaurant for dinner and an excellent spa for massages.
In terms of practical advice: bring linen clothes, as cotton gets soaked and sweaty due to the humidity. Since my husband had a dive trip planned, we had to visit at that time of year, but if I return, we’ll try to go when it’s a bit cooler. Tell Minh what you like — we told him we’re not super early risers, and we don’t like to move hotels every night, we prefer to spend 2 -3 nights at each. We also don’t like to have every single minute of every day planned, so Minh built in plenty of time for us to explore on our own or chill at the hotel.
In conclusion: Minh was fantastic. When we decided during the trip that we didn’t want to do something, Minh came up with great alternatives. He also booked our internal flights and when the airline for one flight went bankrupt right before our trip, Minh quickly scrambled and booked another flight so our itinerary did not get messed up.He was communicative and available during the trip to make last minute changes, and could not have been more helpful or accomodating.
The trip started from Thanh Pho HCM, Saigon to the coffee field cities, visiting so many pagodas, scenic areas…
Indochina Village was the tour service that gave us the feelings of “that’s it. That’s the one will take care of your trip when you go for vacation in VN”.

Beautiful first visit of Vietnam, all nicely organized by Ngoc at Indochina Voyages
I travelled solo through Vietnam for the first time between Dec 25, 2023 and Jan 13, 2024. I have been to many countries in Asia and I absolutely love and know this continent quite well. I usually organize everything myself but for Vietnam I contacted Indochina Voyages and Miss Ngoc took care of my itinerary. I can’t thank her enough for all her help and great services she booked for me. Very professional and passionate, I felt she was extremely dedicated to my requests and always available for my questions. She even managed to spend time with me in Saigon out of her personal time!

Best Travel Agency EVER!
I have traveled to over 50 countries and the Indochina Travel Agency is the best, hands down that I have ever used. They worked with me to keep within our modest budget and it still felt like a luxury vacation.
The hotels they booked were top notch with wonderful breakfast buffets at every one. Their service is bespoke, with your private tour guide and driver for everywhere you go (if you want that). I would highly recommend it as the tours are unique, the guides are local and really know their stuff plus go out of their way to ensure you are comfortable, happy, and feel safe. It is more like visiting Vietnam with a friend who lives there.
They also booked all the internal flights (for much less than I could have) and our travel agent Van amazed us at every turn by being so responsive and proactive. Once when our flight was delayed (a very early morning trip that turned into a relaxing afternoon one) Van contacted us to let us know and rearranged the the pickups and check-outs so we could enjoy ourselves rather than be stressed out waiting at the airport. All before we woke up in the morning and without us even asking!
I usually don’t write reviews but these guys are so good they deserve it. Thank you Van, Jackie, and all the others for making our 3 week tour of Vietnam the most memorable, relaxing, and trouble-free vacation we have ever had. We will be contacting you again soon to arrange another tour to Myanmar or perhaps Thailand!

Marvellous Mekong cruise
A most enjoyable 3 night cruise on the Mekong from Phnom to Hcmc. All the crew on board were lovely. Always smiling and friendly and happy in their roles. Thank you to Srey Ngoc, Seth, Teen, Chanty, Makara, Smey and everyone, sorry I can’t remember all your names! All excursions were very good and our guide (Thai) was full of knowledge. Food was excellent. A special thank you to Ngoc who kindly booked this cruise for us. She was very efficient and professional, always responsive to my emails. I have no doubts in recommending Indochina Voyages.
Laos Mekong Cruise – TOP 👍🏼
We did a 2-day mekong cruise from huay xai to luang prabang. The trip was just great, we enjoyed it very much. All was very well organized. We got a great support from the team for the immigration at the border Thailand-Laos. Our guide on the boat was also great, gave us a lot of insights, was very kind and helpful. The food on board was great. The captain led us safely to Luang Prabang. And all the transport in generel was well organized. Thanks a lot for this experience!
Amazing three week trip – North to South Vietnam – Thank you Indochina Voyages!
I was looking to arrange a very special trip for a special birthday and my journey started with communicating with Hue Nguyen from this great travel company. She was extremely helpful and prepared a beautiful itinerary for my husband and I. Hue was very knowledgeable and planned an absolutely wonderful three week holiday for us. I highly recommend speaking to her and encourage anyone who may be thinking of booking a trip through this company to not hesitate for a moment.
Our journey started in Hanoi where we were met by our lovely guide Dan. I cannot speak highly enough of Dan. He accompanied us through North Vietnam including Hanoi, Sapa and surrounds. We found him to be extremely knowledgeable and generally a kind and caring young man.
Our second guide was Tam who accompanied us through Central Vietnam. Again, we found him to be very knowledgeable and caring. It was here that I had my special birthday and Indochina Voyages went above and beyond arranging a beautiful surprise for me. I feel so blessed to have found a travel company to be so personal which made our stay so memorable.
Our third guide Jayden did not disappoint. Again, he was a great reflection of what this company stands for. He accompanied us through South Vietnam including the Mekong Delta and we had a wonderful experience.
I also wanted to highlight that each of our guides would suggest places to eat in the evening that were close to our accommodation which really allowed us to enjoy our free time rather than wondering around wasting time trying to find something. Each one of them would also be available at anytime in the evening if we needed anything.
We had three different drivers for the different regions that we visited and they all were extremely professional and flexible.
I highly recommend Indochina Voyages and our consultant Hue Nguyen to anyone that may be thinking of visiting Vietnam. This company really does go above and beyond to make your trip “hassle free”. They took extremely good care of us and I cannot thank them enough. We are planning future travel in Asia and will definitely use their services again without any hesitation.
Amazing agency with the best service, our highlight in Vietnam so far.
Amazing agency with the best service, our highlight in Vietnam so far. We were 6 adults and one toddler (21 months old) travelling from different countries and meeting in Vietnam. As I was organising the trip back in October, I came accross a website (Luxury Cruise Mekong which is a subdivision of Indochina Voyages) and started organising a one day trip from HCM to Can Tho as I was only missing that one day of our trip and needed a nice way to travel from one place to another with the family (from 21 months old to 69yo).
Van, our travel consultant was an absolute legend, prompt to reply to all my emails and really cared about the needs of my family.
On the day of our tour, the guide came on time to pick us up at our hotel and travelled with us the Mekong Delta, stopping along the way to explore local cottage industries including the making of coconut candy and puffed rice (the local equivalent of popcorn). Our lunch was served in an exquisite colonial-style villa set in a lush tropical garden by the river and surrounded by fruit trees and was exquisite.
The quality of information given by the guide was great, really interesting to listen to. We absolutely loved him.
If we go again to Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand or Laos we will make sure to call them to organise our trip or a part of it. We recommend 100%.
Second time using your service for 21 days.
Really not disappointed. We have requested a 21-day hassle-free travel arrangement. We were 4 guys and we traveled from the north of Vietnam to the south of the country. Thanks to Indochina voyage service, we had the opportunity to visit Hanoi, Mucanchai, Sapa, Ha long bay, Ninh Binh, Hue, Da Nang, Hoi An, Ho Chi Ming city, Me Kong and Can Tho. In each city, we had the service of a driver who took us around and to the designated destinations with also a tourist guide

Once in a Lifetime Sampan Adventure
From the moment we were picked up by a driver at our hotel in Ho Chi Minh City until we disembarked in Chau Doc we were treated like royalty on our three day Mekong Delta Victoria cruise in a sampan. The boat had two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room area where we could enjoy the view during the day. It could accommodate four people. It also had Wi-Fi and air conditioning.
Our guide Thanh was knowledgeable and friendly. He shared a great deal of information about Vietnamese culture and life on the Mekong Delta. He spoke good English, and went out of his way to be helpful. The rest of the crew was also excellent and our chef cooked delicious meals with lovely presentation.
We really enjoyed all the excursions. A bike ride to visit a pagoda, five course lunch at a renovated, colonial mansion, a tour of a candy factory, where we learned how rice paper is made, seeing the hard workers at a pottery workshop, a tour of a market and flower village at Sad Dec, a ride in a traditional rowboat along a small waterway canal, a visit to Tiger Island enriched our understanding of the Mekong Delta area and the people who live there. We were impressed by the friendliness of the people we met along the way.
This is a once in a lifetime sort of experience and if you want to be pampered we highly recommend this tour.
3-day Sampan Victoria Cruise on the Mekong River
The 3-day, 2 night cruise on a Sampan up the Mekong River with Victoria Cruises was fabulous! Highly recommended.
The crew was terrific, attention to detail and meals were great! The side-yours were very interesting and varied. Wifi on the boat was convenient, beds were comfortable. Our guide, Thanh, spoke very good English and was delightful as well as knowledgeable.
